Tips to Lose Weight Quick

Do you know anybody who doesn’t want to be in shape? We all want to be healthy and full of energy, it just makes for a better quality of life. The problem is that with our life styles now days it is difficult to get into shape and maintain it. I have so many things in my life taking my time that finding “me-time” isn’t easy. Throughout my adult years I have gotten in shape and lost it more times than Charlie Sheen has …..ok, I’ll stop, but I’m sure you get the point. Now what always seems to happen is that I want to get into shape before summer. So I plan to lose weight in a slow and methodical fashion starting in the beginning of winter….well that rarely happens.

What does happen is that I end up having to lose weight quick so that I can even fit into my summer shorts from the previous year. I seem to be progressively starting my program later and later so I really have to work hard to achieve my goals. Well this season I decide not to do this, I had found the will power and like that shoe company says just do it…..well I did.

I am going to give you some quick tips to lose weight quick, I will explain what you need to do first and then I will explain how to do it next.

  1. Do aerobic exercise. You should find some aerobic exercises/activities that you enjoy or at least can tolerate. You should find several activities where you can get your heart rate between 70 – 80 % of your maximum and maintain that for 20 – 30 minutes. A great tip here is to do some interval training once or twice a week along with your aerobic exercise. This gives you a little boost helping you to lose weight quickly.
  2. Do weight lifting. Weight lifting will give you muscle and strength. Strength training benefits every one from children to the elderly. It helps to develop and maintain strength, bone density, reduce body fat, prevents and can treat lower back pain, reduces falling in the elderly. It’s benefits, both long-term and short-term far out weight the pain it is to take the time from your schedule. Plus having the extra muscle mass speeds the metabolism cause you to lose weight quickly. It really is a great routine to get into because it helps to maintain youth and increase quality of life.
  3. Find a good diet plan. You should either get some diet and nutrition books or join a good diet program so you learn the right foods to buy, how to prepare them, when to eat and how much to eat to meet your weight loss goals. There is no magic bullet and if you want to lose weight quick you will need to exercise so don’t let anyone tell you differently. There are a several good diet plans you can do online and they really don’t cost much more than a good book or two. Fat Loss for Idiots and Strip That Fat are two of the best online plans. I chose Fat Loss for Idiots. You don’t need to join those large name diet plans the celebrities tell you about. You companies make there money selling you food…celebrities get that food for free and get paid big bucks for those endorsements, keep that in mind.

Here is what you will need to do to lose weight quickly. You should plan to set aside 30 – 40 minutes a day for 6 days a week. Once you reach your goals you can cut back to 3 – 4 times a week, just keep an eye on your fitness level so you don’t get fat and lazy again like I have done so many times. You should follow your diet plan so that you are getting the right food and nutrition and workout switching aerobic and strength training every other day like this:

Monday – Aerobic 30 minutes

Tuesday – Weight Lifting 30 – 40 minutes

Wednesday – Aerobic 30 minutes

Thursday – Aerobic 30 minutes

Friday – Weight Lifting 30 – 40 minutes

Saturday – Aerobic 30 minutes

Sunday – Rest



As your fitness level increases you should do interval training with your aerobic exercise 1 or 2 days a week. So for example if you are running on a treadmill for 30 minutes you will want to run at your 70-80% level for say 2 minutes and then crank up the speed and run between 80-100% level for 45 seconds to a minute. Repeat this for your entire work out. This is not a routine for the beginner. This method of training will help to lose weight quickly in the shortest amount of time.

It is also a good idea to switch up your exercises, so if one day/week you are using a treadmill the next day/week you should try an elliptical. Variety is the spice of life and it is useful to keep our bodies guessing a readjusting to get most out of our exercise time and lose weight quickly.
